TRAHC's 30th Annual Juried Exhibition

On Display July 27 – August 25, 2018

The Regional Arts Center is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 AM until 4 PM. Admission is always free.

It was a festive evening on Friday, July 27 as TRAHC hosted the opening reception for the 30th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Regional Arts Center. The reception and the exhibition were both sponsored by E-Z Mart Stores, Inc. The public and artists joined TRAHC Staff and WFA volunteers in celebrating all the artists and artwork selected for display in this year's event.

All submissions were reviewed and judged by Sean Fitzgibbons, MFA, Director of the Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport, Louisiana.

This year's winners include:

Best of Show - “FLAG ON THE HORIZON” by Winter Rusiloski

Yates Collection Purchase Award - “Well Water” by Betty Stearman

First Place - “A People that Dance Without Legs” by Juan Barroso

Second Place - “Stanley Market Place” by Deborah Mushock

Third Place - “Bare Skin” by Kayla Morrow

Fourth Place - “Before the Storm” by Mihaela Savu

Honorable Mention - “Climbing” by Kacie Baker

Honorable Mention - “Ducks at Pearson Park” by Hugh Dunnahoe

Honorable Mention - “Bubbles and Dreams” by Amber Fenix

This year's FaEllen and Jim Yates Collection Purchase award winner will become part of the permanent collection at the Regional Arts Center.

TRAHCs 30th Annual Juried Exhibition is a juried exhibition celebrating local, regional, and national artists. The competition is hosted by the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council, an arts council located in Texarkana, Texas. $3750 in prizes! This exhibit is made possible by a generous sponsorship from E-Z Mart Inc.

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older currently residing in the U.S. All work must be original in concept and not copied from another artist's work. No photography, digital art, video, film, jewelry, installations or artwork that requires special installation or assembly will be accepted. Entries must be received by June 10 Midnight MST. Only entries submitted online through Callforentry.org will be considered. Entries are limited to a maximum of three works executed in the last two years (May 2016 - May 2018.) A maximum of two pieces of artwork per artist can be juried into the exhibit.

Accepted work will be exhibited at TRAHC from July 27 – August 25, 2018.

Sean Fitzgibbons, MFA

Meadows Museum Director
Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport, Louisiana

Sean FitzGibbons received his BA in American Studies at the University of Texas in Austin, and his MFA at Washington University in Saint Louis. Recently, he was the Senior Management Analyst for the City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture where he facilitated contemporary art exhibits for the city’s two galleries and consulted on downtown murals for Downtown Operations. He was professor of the Business for Creatives and 4D Design courses at Aurora Community College in Colorado, and has served as a guest lecturer for numerous universities and programs. Currently, Sean FitzGibbons is the Director of the Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Due to TRAHC's extremely limited storage space, artwork left more than 30 days after August 28, 2018 (September 28, 2018) will be deemed the property of TRAHC unless arrangements have been made in writing and agreed up on by both parties. Any artwork that arrived through USPS will be held until a pre-paid return-shipping label from FedEx or UPS is provided.
