"Wandering The Heartland" Exhibit Opening Reception - Nov. 11
Join us for the opening reception of our upcoming exhibit, "Wandering the Heartland - The Photography of Michael Leonard" Friday, November 11 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Regional Arts Center! Refreshments will be provided and admission is free.

Originally from Missouri, Michael Leonard has lived in Fort Smith since retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1994. He is well known as an innovative and highly skilled photographer. Leonard's photographic interests and styles are multifaceted and he has photographed many different subjects. Well recognized for unique printing and presentation techniques, Leonard has inspired and trained many other photographers to learn his dramatic style of both color and black and white infrared photography. He spends every free minute he can exploring and photographing our country.
Leonard has had solo exhibits at The Art Form Gallery in Van Buren, Studio Loud in Hot Springs and Remy Fine Art Gallery in Fort Smith. Recent solo exhibits include galleries at The Center For Art Education in Van Buren (2016) and the Batesville Area Arts Council (2016). His work is on permanent display at The Western Legacy Gallery in Van Buren and has gone on tour with The Arkansas Arts Council's; Small Works On Paper show in 2015
Leonard has won numerous awards in regional photography competitions. “Best Of Show” awards include Mena Art Gallery's photography show in 2016, 2014 and 2010; Cossatot Arts and Crafts Association art show in 2014 and 2016; Caddo River Art Guild's photography show in 2014 and The Mid-America Photography Symposium/ Ozark Photographic Challenge in 2011.
