TSO: Student Shows - Green Eggs and Ham + The Toy Symphony + Young Person's Guide to Orchestra

Green Eggs and Ham and The Toy Symphony

Featuring Michael Boudewyns, actor and Kimberly Schroeder, soprano

Green Eggs and Ham

This fully staged orchestral adaptation of Dr. Seuss's beloved children's classic is a feast for the ears! The unstoppable Sam-I-Am serves up a veritable banquet of surprises from Robert Kapilow's culinary cartoon-musical composition.

The Toy Symphony

Squeaks, tweets, rattles and honks!! Professor Tympanium von Hammer zee Trumpeterclanger, the whimsical Austrian sound-scientist, travels the world with his amazing acoustical laboratory - a portable Jules Verne-inspired armamentarium of musical instruments and copper fittings - but the Professor will need your help to complete the musical melody. Come prepared to play along as the audience becomes the missing instrument.

Grades: 1-6

A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra

Featuring Sara Valentine, actor

A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra

Fusing the styles of Mary Poppins and Julia Childs, Britain's own Symphonia Semi d'Quaver, narrates this classic introduction to the orchestra with wit and a wink. Students enjoy aural and visual experiences of each of the instrument families of the orchestra and a brief introduction to musical form.
