You must also understand what you see.” \nGuiding students in an approach to freehand observational drawing\, Tom Morrissey\, MFA\, will cover a wide range of conceptual interpretation and address a series of questions in drawing: what are you looking at? from where are you looking at it? Morrissey will also cover concepts including contour\, positive and negative space\, light and shadow\, composition\, as well as comparative measuring. 18+ \nRegister

SUMMARY:Van Gogh Impressionism Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join skilled local art instructor Dr. Elisabeth Eaton for a two-hour workshop that focuses on Van Gogh’s Impressionistic painting style. Participants will vote on the two images in the graphic and will work to recreate their version of the piece\, with facilitation from the instructor on a 16″ by 20″ canvas using acrylic paint.  \nThis class will meet Thursday\, June 18 from 6-8pm in the Calhoun Studio at TRAHC’s ArtSpace (518 Pine Street\, Texarkana\, TX 75501). This workshop is $50 and materials and tools are provided by the artist and TRAHC. Tuition is nonrefundable only in the event less than eight individuals register. SUMMARY:Bluebonnet Sun Catcher with Kathy Madison
DESCRIPTION:Glass artist Kathy Madison (A Glass Act Creations)\, along with her daughter Rachael\, will guide students in designing and completing a 5″ x 7″ hanging bluebonnet sun catcher! 💙 \nThis class will meet Sunday\, June 28 from 1-4pm in the Calhoun Studio at TRAHC’s ArtSpace (518 Pine Street\, Texarkana\, TX 75501). \nDuring this class\, students will work with Kathy on the design of their art piece\, but the finishing steps of the project will be completed/fired by the instructor. The three designs on the cover image are examples of what students may make during the class. Each piece will also have a glass strip at the top with a chain for hanging on a wall or window. \nRegister \nStudents are expected to return to the ArtSpace for pickup upon notification. Items will be available for pickup 4-5 days after the class. Materials\, tools\, and safety gear are provided by the artist and TRAHC. Tuition is nonrefundable unless less than 9 individuals register. This course is open to individuals 10+; however\, individuals under 16 must have a parent accompany them. \nIndividuals are encouraged to register at least one week before the class\, so the artist has time to prepare an appropriate amount of materials.
