Artist Talk: Anna Zusman
Join artist Anna Zusman for an artist talk and reception for “Us and Them,” which will be displayed in the Regional Arts Center from Sept. 12 to Oct. 31. The reception will take place on Sept. 12 from 3-5 PM and is free to the public.
Us and Them explores how we divide the world into “us” and “them,” and how our perceptions are shaped by what we choose to notice. The centerpiece is a cross-section of a house depicted twice. In one version, rooms containing “good” scenes, such as an elderly couple dancing and a family gathered around the dinner table, are illuminated. In the other, only “bad” scenes, such as people fighting, are lit. The work encourages viewers to become more aware of the ways we divide the world, to notice the positive aspects in others’ “houses,” and to acknowledge the challenges within our own.
The Regional Arts Center galleries are free and open to the public, Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Group tours may be arranged by contacting TRAHC in advance.
