Acting without feeling Awkward
Ever wanted to try acting but worried you might feel awkward, embarrassed, or completely out of your element? This two-hour workshop, led by local theatre director Brandon Shoemaker, is designed for beginners, skeptics, and curious adults who want to loosen up, build confidence, and discover the basics of performance in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.
Through simple theatre games, improvisation exercises, and scene activities, participants will explore how actors move past self-consciousness and learn to commit fully to the moment. No memorization, experience, or dramatic talent required — just a willingness to play along ðŸŽ
Perfect for first-time actors, public speakers, educators, or anyone wanting to feel more comfortable expressing themselves in front of others. Give it a try!
This acting workshop will meet in the Patterson-Troike Performing Arts Studio at TRAHC’s ArtSpace (518 Pine Street) on Saturday, July 25 from 1-3pm.
Materials and exercises are provided by the instructor and TRAHC. Tuition is nonrefundable only in the case less than ten students register, but registration may be transferred to another student. This course is open to individuals 18+. For additional questions, please email marcusz@trahc.org.
